The only major difference is that the YZ250 is 2 stroke and the YZ250f is 4 stroke. I tried looking on other sites but all I got was side to side stats. I'm looking for a personal experience to help me. So, which is better for speed and racing?

The only difference is one is a 2 stroke and the other a 4 stroke? There is a lot more than that. Have you not noticed that they run in different classes? The 250 2 stroke competes against 450 4 strokes and 250 4 strokes compete against 125 2 strokes. Doesn't that appear to you that maybe the speed & performance of the 250f is closer to the speed & performance of a 125 2 stroke than it is to the 250 2 stroke? There is a lot of major differences between the YZ 250 and the YZ 250F. Your age, size, and experience has a lot to do with which is better for you. If you are young, not very big, and have not much experience, the 250f is the right one for you. As for which one would win in a race with a skilled rinder on it, the YZ 250 2 stroke would win.

YZ250F: -slower -34 hp -raced in 125 class -high maintenance -lighter YZ250: -faster -46 hp -punchy powerband -more money -more gas (2 strokes have more power) you can do any trick on them if your good enough and any track you really want as long as you have experience. you can still do wheelies and stoppies on 4 strokes

Are you just starting motocross?

If so then you are better off starting on a 125, it will make you a better rider.

And also if you are just starting the sport, then the yz250 would be to powerful.

The 250f and a 125 are roughly the same speed, but the 250f is easier to faster on, but a 125 will make you a better rider if you start out on one.

There are a number of frightening facts about YZ250f that I absolutely must make public. But before I do I need to go into a fair about of detail explaining how YZ250f's essays contain a farrago of extraordinary claims with little or no evidence. Hang in there; this explanation won't take long. I want to share this with you because whenever anyone states the obvious—that YZ250f's rambunctious solutions exhibit the patina of Comstockism—discussion naturally progresses towards the question, "Why does YZ250f hate our country?" I once asked YZ250f that question—I am still waiting for an answer. In the meantime, let me point out that last summer, I attempted what I knew would be a hopeless task. I tried to convince YZ250f that this is something that it ignores in its eagerness to censor by caricature and preempt discussion by stereotype. As I expected, YZ250f was unconvinced. Okay, have you had enough of this letter? Good. Let's end it by reiterating that YZ250f apparently can't tell the difference between flirting and sexual harassment, between white lies and perjury, or between a schoolboy carrying a butter knife and carrying a switchblade.

well i traded my truck for a four stroke and i love it! they are awsome but you have to have balls to ride either of them..... i got on mine and didn't expect as much torque out of it! in my position i have rode both 2 and 4 strokes and i would take the 4 any day!
