how much does it cost to fix up a dirt bike to race it?

Im 13 I ride a ttr 125 i hav been asking my dad if i can race for a while and he says its too expensive so i said id pitch in halfway

That is like asking how much does a used car cost. It could run under $100 to over $1000. It all depends on what it needs. How much money do you have to be able to pitch in halfway?

u wanna race, ok first thing is first u need to get rid of your ttr that bike is useless on a track and u will get hurt trying to race it. tame the money from that then th money this summer and then some and buy a 85cc two stroke. these bikes are race ready for the most part if u get a good one made within the past say 3 years. the 2 stroke isn't very competitive to the 4 strokes but ur just looking to race not dominate so go 2 stroke.



thats just the bike though the rest of the sport is expencive to so start saving ever penny.

The bike you have is not designed to race mx on. The amount you would need to spend to get it so it could race would be better spent on a bike designed for mx. You can pick up 2 stroke 85cc bikes fairly cheap these days as many people are preferring to race the 4 strokes.

Ok a ttr is not a race bike so if you really want to race i would get a kx100 or get on craigslist and fin a kx125 or a yz125 or something along those lines
