I love 2-strokes. BUT, the new 250 4-strokes are really easy to ride compared to a 125 2-stroke.

The only 125 2-stroke I ever owned that was easy to ride and race was a Kawasaki KD 125. That was Kawasaki's play bike back in the day. I couldn't afford a KX, so I picked up a used KD. The bike had low end and midrange grunt, but no top end to speak of.

A 125 2-stroke race bike has to be kept in the power band at all times, they are screamers or peaky. The 250 4-stroke can be lugged around or screamed. It's the best of both worlds really.

It takes far less skill to ride a new 4-stroke fast than a 2-stroke.

If you are trail riding, play racing or even doing some racing once in a while, I would go with the 4-stroke. If you are not trail riding, play racing and racing every weekend, go with a 250 2-stroke.....oh...I mean 125 2-stroke (wink*)

If you can handle it and ride track, 250 4-stroke.

If you're looking for a trail bike, I'd go with the 125.

The 4-stroke would be my pick hands down; it is easier to ride with a wider range of revs to work with and a lot more forgiving when you make a mistake.

Well alot would depend on yourself. wether ur racing, or just off road and what ur looking for in a bike.

125's are cheap to maintain and are just great, proven machines.

250f's are modern, expensive, complicated, fast, heavy, and if you blow it.. god bless you
