i was told that kx500 was the fastest dirt bike made. Followed by the cr500. I haven't looked into the ktm 550. How is that? Around my house there are long trails. Long dirt roads, so i do not think a 2 stroke would be a choice for me. But i was wondering what 4 stroke could keep up with those 2 strokes? Because i know all three of them would eat 4 strokes. OR should i go with something like a cr250 or cr450 4 stroke? i was just wondering what you guys think. Any impute would be much appreicated. Thank you.

The 500's are no longer being produced. Unless your looking into service honda 500's. The modern 450 4-strokes will eat up those 500's you just listed. My friend has a 89 CR 500 and i have a 2010 ktm 250 xc (2-stroke) and my bike kills his. The only place the 500 would have an advantage would possibly be with top speed or where a lot of torque is needed. But with the modern chassis, gearing, and lightweight of the newer bikes they'll handle much better and still be snappier.

The 500 kx will go on higher engine rpm, but the 500 cr has much more torque and on a high regime it's much more powerful than the kx. I'm talking for original bikes, I had Two before.
