I am 13 years old. I won't be racing only trail riding. I found a good Yamaha yz85 I'm thinking of buying but I'm not sure if I should get it because its a race bike and I would mostly be trail riding. Should I get it?

If you have not ever rode any bike before and you get the yz in the woods. You could have problems until you learn more control. Especially if the trails are tight. If you have some flat and open area to ride till you get familiar with the power and braking, that would be wise. The bike is very suitable for trail or woods riding. You could have the suspension set up softer, and sprocket up for lower gearing. This will allow the bike to perform and handle better.

Two stroked don't make great trail bikes as the power is too uneven. You don't say how tall you are for a 13 year old but you could look at a crf230f which is a basic trail bike or if a bit taller for your age you may even be okay on a crf250x. But a lot depends upon how big you are.

But 4 strokes are a lot better for trails.
